Several years ago, while traveling through Alabama"s Wilcox county and the town of my ancestors, I came upon an old building with a landmark plague and an active business. I couldn't resist, so I stopped and went inside. On one wall was this old map containing marker outlines defining numbered political districts with the number of boxes or polling places. And yes, I took a photo of the map you see here. Since this discovery and with this information, I was able to find locations of many of my relatives. When out traveling researching your family, be aware of old buildings, landmarks, and accidental findings like old maps. A another example of genealogy information hiding in plain sight.
