The Past is our future, make sure you document your findings.

These small books that are located in this book case was found in a dumpster. A nice man found them and donated them to a local Museum. However, the Museum closed in 2020 during Covid, and the records was placed in a warehouse in boxes. When I looked in the books, they contain some names, operations of the mining company and other happening and life of miners. We should thank everyone who does research and find interesting documents that may help others and share them online

The Pendleton Store Still Stands

While driving through the Northeast corner of Jefferson County, in the old community of Patrick City, which is now Leeds, Alabama. The Pendleton’s came from Margaret, Alabama. When they moved into Patrick City, they didn’t have a place for simple groceries. In the evening after school, kids would come to the store and visit with Mrs. Pendleton.
